Another Funglish year has started! 

今年も新たにファングリッシュが始まりました！

GRADE 1

1st graders enjoyed our first English language activity. Everyone introduced themselves well in English to the ALTs and their friends. They had so much guessing about their homeroom teacher's likes through the Hint Quiz.

1年生は初めての英語の授業を楽しみました。ALTや友達に英語で上手に自己紹介ができました。ヒントクイズで、担任の先生の好きなものを当てるのがとても楽しかったようです。

GRADE 3

New Funglish Lesson with the 3rd graders has just started. It was their first time to have an English book so everyone was very excited to use it. Saying hello in different languages was a fun lesson for them, too. More exciting Funglish lesson awaits you!

3年生との新しいファングリッシュの授業が始まりました。英語の教科書は初めてなので、みんなとても楽しみにしていました。いろいろな国の言葉で挨拶するのも楽しいレッスンでした。これからも楽しいレッスンが待っていますよ！

GRADE 4

Fourth-grade children wrote their English goals this year. Some students wrote that they wanted to speak English more and to write their names in Roman letters. This month, they learned different greetings around the world and everyone was glad to learn new things about their friends.

4年生の子どもたちに、今年の英語の目当てを書いてもらいました。「もっと英語を話したい」「自分の名前をローマ字で書きたい」と書いてくれた生徒もいました。今月は、世界中のさまざまな挨拶を学び、みんな友達の新しい一面を知ることができて嬉しそうでした。

GRADE 5

5th graders just met their new English Teacher - Molly sensei and they did a great job with introducing themselves in English. They also learned how to spell their names using the English Alphabet. Let’s have a great Funglish class!

5年生は新しい英語の先生、モリー先生（森平先生）にお会いし、英語で自己紹介をしました。また、アルファベットを使って自分の名前の綴りを学びました。

GRADE 6

6th-grade students met their new English teacher, Molly Sensei. Since she is teaching in three elementary schools, 6th graders want to help her remember their names by giving an impressive self-introduction.

 6年生は新しい英語の先生、モリー先生に会いました。モリー先生は3つの小学校で教えているので、6年生は自分の名前を覚えてもらえるように、印象的な自己紹介スライドを作ることにしました。

FUNGLISH TIME

We had a great Funglish Time for this month. Since it was the beginning of the school year, we introduced ourselves to each other using English. Everyone could say their names and tell what they like through Funglish Basket.

今月も楽しいFunglish Timeを過ごしました。新学期の始まりということで、英語を使って自己紹介をしました。ファングリッシュバスケットゲームを通して、自分の名前を言ったり、好きなものを言ったりしました。

Grade 1 

 Days of the Week was the last lesson of this school year for the 1st graders. They learned how to do gesture for each day based on what it represents in Japanese. Good job 1st graders for a wonderful year. Please do your best again in 2nd grade.

1年生にとって今年度最後の授業となった「曜日」。日本語の「曜日」の漢字にちなんだジェスチャーを学びました。１年生の皆さん、1年間お疲れ様でした。2年生も頑張ってください。

Grade ２

As 2nd grade students will have more English activities from April, we prepared for it by learning useful classroom English. Students enjoyed playing Simon Says and they can now listen and follow the basic English commands.

4月から３年生になるとの`英語活動が増えるため、クラスで使える英語を学びました。サイモンセイズを楽しみ、基本的な英語の指示を聞いて従うことができるようになりました。

Grade 3

The last day of the English class was filled with so much happiness and excitement as they showcase their acting talent in role playing entitled “In the Autumn Forest.” Everyone did their role, deliver their lines and do the animal gesture so well. We are very proud of you 3rd graders. Way to go!

英語授業の最終日は、"In the Autumn Forest "と題されたロールプレイングで演技の才能を披露し、幸せと興奮に包まれました。みんな、自分の役割を果たし、セリフを言い、動物のジェスチャーも上手にできました。3年生のみんなを誇りに思います。よく頑張りました。

Grade 4

The fourth graders gave a wonderful presentation about how they usually spend their favorite　day, using clear voices, nice gestures, and good eye contact. The students talked about the interesting routines they engage in: waking up, going to school, breakfast, soccer, etc.

4年生の児童たちは、はっきりとした声、素敵なジェスチャー、そして上手なアイコンタクトを使いながら、普段の好きな曜日とその一日の過ごし方について素晴らしいプレゼンテーションをしてくれました。児童たちは、起床、登校、朝食、サッカーなど、自分たちがしている興味深い日課について話しました。

Grade 5

Presenting their heroes was the last task of 5th graders in the English class. Students made used of interesting words to describe the characteristics of their heroes which made everyone smile when it’s their time to present. Good job for a job well done!

自分のヒーローを発表することは、5年生の英語の授業の最後の課題でした。生徒たちはヒーローの特徴を興味深い言葉を使って表現し、発表の時間にはみんな笑顔になっていました。よく頑張りました！

Grade 6

For their final presentation, 6th grade students made a video speech presentation for the Filipino students. They could say what club they want to join, what school event they want to enjoy, and what they want to be in the future. Good luck in junior high school!

最後のプレゼンテーションでは、6年生がフィリピンの子供たちのためにビデオスピーチプレゼンテーションを行いました。どんなクラブに入りたいか、どんな学校行事を楽しみたいか、将来何になりたいかなどを発表することができました。中学校でも頑張ってください！

1ST GRADE (1年生)

Learning shapes was so easy for the 1st graders. Using their body parts and unlimited creativity and imagination they can make shapes and different characters. Nice work 1st graders!

小学1年生にとって、形を学ぶ活動はとても理解がはやかったです。体のパーツを使い、無限の創造力と想像力を駆使して、形やさまざまなキャラクターを作ることができました。 よく頑張りました。

2ND GRADE (2年生)

It was a fun lesson about the days of the week. Students listened to the story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and played some games to practice saying the days of the week in English. Students did a fantastic job of thinking of specific gestures for each day to remember them easily.

 今日は曜日の英語を楽しく学びました。The Very Hungry Caterpillar（はらぺこあおむし）」のお話を聞きながら、曜日を英語で言う練習をしました。子供たちは、それぞれの曜日を覚えやすいように、具体的なジェスチャーを考え、素晴らしい出来栄えでした。

3RD GRADE (3年生)

3rd graders' creativity was showcased when they made their hint quiz. Everyone in the class took their time in making their hints. They also learned how to give hints and answers in English. Beautiful hint quiz 3rd graders.

3年生は、自分たちでヒントクイズを作り、創造性を発揮しました。クラス全員が時間をかけてヒントを作りました。ヒントの出し方や英語での答え方も学びました。すばらしいヒントクイズでした!

4TH GRADE (4年生)

The 4th-grade students made a wonderful presentation about their favorite places in school. They were also able to give directions in English confidently. They can say “Go straight” “Turn left” and “Turn right” clearly and correctly.

4年生は、学校の好きな場所について素晴らしいプレゼンをしてくれました。また、自信をもって英語で指示を出すこともできました。「Go straight、Turn left、Turn right 」とはっきりと正しく言えるようになりました。

5TH GRADE (5年生)

Learning about family members, occupations, and what they are good at in English was very easy with the 5th graders. Next lesson, they are tasked to present their life hero to the teachers. Good luck 5th graders. We are excited about the presentation.

家族の名前や職業、得意なことを英語で学ぶ活動は、5年生にとってはとても理解がはやかったです。次のレッスンでは、自分の人生のヒーローを先生たちに発表します。頑張れ5年生。発表が楽しみです。

6TH GRADE (6年生)

The 6th graders shared many wonderful memories in Yoshida Elementary School during their “Best Memory” presentation. They also did their best during the English test. One more month 6th graders, fighting!

6年生の「最高の思い出」の発表では、吉田小学校での素敵な思い出をたくさん話してくれました。英語のテストも頑張りました。あと1ヶ月、6年生、ファイト!

GRADE 1

1st graders had a lot of fun playing pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey while trying to give simple commands to their friends by saying left, right, up, down and stop in English. Everyone had a great laugh everytime they take off their handkerchieft and seeing what they come up with.
1年生は、しっぽにピンをつけて 英語で左、右、上、下、止まれと簡単な指示を出しながら、ピン・ザ・テール・オン・ザ・ドンキーごっこを楽しみました。ハンカチを取るたびに、みんな大笑い

GRADE 2

This month, students learned to name body parts and basic illnesses such as headache, influenza, and fever. During the Funny Face Game, they had loads of fun saying body parts in English and helping friends with simple English commands.

今月は、体の部位の名前や、頭痛、インフルエンザ、発熱などの風邪の言い方を学びました。ファニーフェイスゲームでは、体の部位を英語で言ったり、簡単な英語の命令で友だちを助けたりして楽しみました。

GRADE 3
 

Playing Naruto Game and Mystery Box Game were a big hit for the 3rd graders. Everyone were so creative on giving hints as they tried to use of all the English words that they learned in the past. Good job 3rd graders.
ナルトゲームとミステリーボックスゲームは3年生に大人気でした。過去に習った英単語を使ってヒントを出すなど、みんな工夫していました。3年生の皆さん、お疲れ様でした。

GRADE 4

The 4th graders were all set for new challenges. We kicked off the Spelling Challenge where they had to listen to the sounds of words said by the ALT and write the letter. They also had a blast learning about various school places. Now, they can confidently name different spots in school in English, like classroom, broadcasting room, and the school principal's office.

4年生は新たな挑戦に向けて準備万端でした。ALTの言った単語の音を聞いてアルファベットを書くというスペリングチャレンジが始まり、学校の様々な場所について楽しく学びました。今では、教室、放送室、校長室など、学校内のさまざまな場所を自信を持って英語で言えるようになりました。

GRADE 5

For the current unit, 5th graders are tasked to introduce to the ALT`s one Japanese event that they like. While doing that, they learned how to say different Japanese events in English. We are looking forward on knowing more about Japanese culture.

今回の単元では、5年生がALTに自分の好きな日本の行事を一つ紹介することになりました。その際、日本の様々な行事を英語でどのように言うかを学びました。私達は日本の文化についてもっと知りたいと思います。

GRADE 6

Students had a great winter break. Now they're back for Funglish activities, all recharged. This month, they talked about memories from elementary school. Everyone was excited to share their best memory using English.

子供たちは充実した冬休みを過ごしました。今、彼らは充電を終えて、ファンイングリッシュの活動に戻ってきました。今月は、小学校での思い出について話し合いました。みんな、英語を使ってそれぞれの最高の思い出を知れることに興奮していました。

Hello, everyone! Our English class turned into a super cool Christmas party!

こんにちは、皆さん！ 私たちの英語のクラスはとてもクールなクリスマスパーティーになりました！

Making Christmas Wishes: Students grabbed some paper ornaments and wrote down their Christmas wishes. Then, they decorated the big Christmas tree with them.

 児童たちは紙のオーナメントを手に取り、クリスマスの願い事を書きました。 それから、大きなクリスマスツリーをみんなで飾りました。

Christmas in the Philippines: The ALTs shared about Christmas in the Philippines. Students were amazed by the facts they learned. Did you know that in the Philippines, they start celebrating Christmas in September? That's a long Christmas season. Also, Kentucky chicken is not their go-to Christmas food, but Christmas hams.

ALT はフィリピンのクリスマスについて紹介しました。 児童たちは教えて頂いた事実に驚きました。 フィリピンでは9月からクリスマスが始まることをご存知ですか？ 長いクリスマスシーズンですね。 また、クリスマスに人気の食べ物はケンタッキーのチキンではなく、クリスマスハムです。

Christmas Game: Students played a cool game called "Where's Santa?" They had to find Santa in different pictures. It was tricky but so much fun! And students learned lots of Christmas words while playing. Students also enjoyed “Pass the Present” game where students got cute stickers by answering questions in English.

児童たちは「サンタさんはどこ？」という面白いゲームをしました。 彼らはさまざまな写真の中からサンタを見つけなければなりませんでした。 大変だったけどとても楽しそうでした！ そして児童たちは遊びながらクリスマスの言葉をたくさん学びました。 英語で質問に答えてかわいいシールをゲットする「パス・ザ・プレゼント」ゲームも楽しみました。

Grade 1

1st graders learned how to say different animal name and the sound that they make Students found their partner by imitating each animal sounds.
1年生は、動物の名前と鳴き声を学びました。それぞれの動物の鳴き声を真似して、自分と同じパートナーを探します.

Grade 2

2nd graders were fully engaged during our lesson about sports. They learned how to express popular sports in Japan, including baseball, soccer, and basketball, as well as other sports like bowling, golf, and football. The students enjoyed gesture games and 'ohajiki janken' while practicing English communication. Great job, 2nd graders!
2年生は、スポーツについての授業に熱心に取り組みました。野球、サッカー、バスケットボールをはじめ、ボーリング、ゴルフ、サッカーなど、日本で人気のあるスポーツの英語表現を学びました。ジェスチャーゲームや「おはじきじゃんけん」を楽しみながら、英語でのコミュニケーションを練習しました。2年生の皆さん、お疲れ様でした！

Grade 3

3rd graders made their own business card as part of the final output for unit 6. Students now know how to spell their names and tell their initials. Everyone presented in front together with their teammates. They did a great job especially eye contact and smile.
3年生はユニット6の最終の活動として、自分の名刺を作り、名前のスペルやイニシャルを言えるようになりました。みんなチームメイトと一緒に前で発表しました。特にアイコンタクトと笑顔が素晴らしかったです。

Grade 4
4th graders used their tablets to make their own parfaits. They showed understanding and creativity and communicated effectively using the target expressions “What do you want?” and “How many?” All the parfaits look absolutely delicious.
4年生がタブレットを使ってパフェを作りました。"What do you want?" や "How many?" を効果的に使いながらコミュニケーションをとっていました。どのパフェもとてもおいしそうです。

Grade 5
5th graders learned how to say different places in town in English. They know how to give directions in English by saying ``go straight, turn right, turn left, you can see it on your right/left.
5年生は、町のいろいろな場所を英語でどのように言うかを学びました。まっすぐ行って、右に曲がって、左に曲がって、などの道案内の仕方も知ることができました。

Grade 6
Students demonstrated focus and determination during the GTEC test, utilizing tablets to assess their four macro skills – listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The results will serve as a baseline for their ongoing English learning journey beyond elementary school.
6年生はGTECテストを実施しました。タブレットを活用してリスニング、リーディング、スピーキング、ライティングの4つのスキルを評価しました。この結果は、小学校以降も継続する英語学習の基礎となります。

 Trick or Treat, dear Funglish students!

For the month of October, the Funglish Room was spellbound with the magic of Halloween! Our English class turned into a haunted hub of learning and fun. The Funglish room was spooky and spectacular, dripping in eerie decorations and brimming with the spirit of Halloween. Teachers dressed up in Halloween costumes, too.

10月のファングリッシュルームはハロウィンの魔法にかけられました！私たちのファングリッシュクラスは、楽しく学べるお化けの部屋に変身しました。ファングリッシュルームには、こわい装飾が施され、ハロウィーンの雰囲気に包まれました。先生たちもハロウィーンの仮装をしました。

Halloween characters on the walls evoked a sense of enchantment and a dash of spine-tingling suspense. Witches on broomsticks, cackling jack-o'-lanterns, and mischievous ghosts and bats weaved a scene of frightful delight, inviting everyone to enjoy the spooky ambiance.

壁にはハロウィーンのキャラクターが描かれ、魅惑的で、背筋が凍るようです。ホウキに乗った魔女や、キャッキャと笑うジャック・オー・ランタン、いたずら好きなお化けやコウモリがおどろおどろしいシーンを作り、みんなをハロウィンの雰囲気に誘います。

But fear not, for amidst the spectral decor, learning thrived! Our students dove into the world of Halloween-themed English lessons, exploring the language through spooky stories, and eerie vocabulary. The students reveled in exploring Halloween traditions in the Philippines, delighting in the mysteries behind indigenous creatures like the kapre, tikbalang, and nuno sa punso through a quiz game.

しかし、そんなことはありません！児童たちはハロウィーンをテーマにした英語の世界に飛び込み、ハロウィーンにまつわる物語や語彙を学びました。児童たちは、フィリピンのハロウィーンの伝統を知り、クイズゲームを通して、カプレ、ティクバラン、ヌーノ・サ・プンソといったフィリピン固有のお化けについて知りました。

The class was a cauldron of creativity, where students enjoyed Halloween games like Sleeping Monster and Zombie Apocalypse, drew their own Halloween monsters, and designed masks. Thrilled with excitement, students had fun trick-or-treating, where they received adorably haunting Halloween stickers."

児童たちは、スリーピングモンスターやゾンビ・アポカリプスなどのハロウィーンゲームを楽しんだり、自分たちのハロウィーンモンスターを描いたり、マスクをデザインしたりしました。また、トリックオアトリートを楽しみ、とても可愛らしいハロウィンステッカーをもらいました。

Our Funglish Time Halloween celebration was a spine-tingling success, leaving everyone bewitched by the magic of learning in a haunted classroom.

ハロウィーンのファングリッシュタイムは大成功を収め、お化け教室で学ぶ魔法に皆が魅了されました。

WELCOME TO THE NEW FUNGLISH ROOM!

1st Grade

1st graders had a great time learning fruits and vegetables in English. They were very excited to accomplish the shopping task that Gian asked them to do.

1年生は、果物や野菜の名前を、英語で楽しく学びました。子どもたちは、ジャイアンから頼まれた買い物の仕事を達成することに、とても興奮していました。

2nd Grade

2nd grade students started the 2nd term with a Funglish lesson about different emotions. They enjoyed playing “Hungry Tagger” Game. They can also ask and answer “How are you?” Way to go, 2nd graders!

2年生は、色々な気分の言い方の授業から、二学期が始まりました。子どもたちは、「ハングリタガー」ゲームを楽しんでいました。また、「How are you?」と尋ねたり、答えたりすることができました。2年生の皆さん、よく頑張りました！

3rd Grade

Everyone was very excited to make their dream school lunch. 3rd graders shopped for different foods that they wanted on their school lunches using their shopping cart and PayPay card. Most of them wish to be served sushi on school lunch.

子どもたちは、自分の夢の給食づくりに大興奮でした。3年生は、自分が給食で食べたいものを、ショッピングカートと、PayPayカードを使って買い物をしました。ほとんどの子どもたちは、給食で寿司が出ることを望んでいました。

4th Grade

4th graders did a great job in doing their self-introduction in English to their new homeroom teacher. They also learned lowercase letters and enjoyed the alphabet karuta game with their friends.

４年生は、新しい担任の先生に向けて、英語で自己紹介を上手に行うことができました。また、アルファベットの小文字を学んだり、友達と一緒にカルタを楽しみました。

5th Grade

5th graders were tasked to work in groups to introduce a famous character and tell what they can and can’t do.

5年生は、グループに分かれて、有名人やキャラクターを紹介し、その人物ができることやできないことを伝える活動をしました。

6th Grade

Summer vacation is over. 6th graders were busy preparing for their summer vacation presentation. They enjoyed playing Nearpod game using their tablet.

夏休みが終わり、6年生のみんなは、夏休みにしたことの発表スライドを準備するのに大忙しでした。また、子どもたちは、タブレットを使用して、Nearpodゲームを楽しみました！

The 1st graders learned how to count 1-10 in their Funglish class. They enjoyed counting with their friends while having fun.

１年生はファングリッシュの授業で１から１０までの数え方を学習しました。友達と一緒に楽しみながら数えていました。

The 2nd grade students had a Funglish lesson about weather. They learned how to say sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy weather in English while enjoying time with their friends.

2年生は天気についての楽しい授業をしました。友達と楽しみながら、晴れ、雨、曇り、雪の天気を英語でどう言うかを学びました.

The 3rd graders were given a task by their English teachers to have a Funglish reading challenge to the Principal and their chosen teachers while introducing their original rainbow.

3年生は英語の先生から読み聞かせチャレンジの課題が出されました。

校長先生や指名した先生たちに、自分のオリジナルの虹を英語で紹介します。

The 4th graders did an amazing job in presenting their favorite day to their friends while using their tablets and communicating in English. They were able to remember the day of the weeks while using gestures. Even if “Thursday” seemed to be a difficult word to say, they tried their best to say it. Keep up the good work, 4th graders!

４年生は、タブレットを使いながら英語でコミュニケーションをとりました、自分の好きな日を友達に発表するという素晴らしい活動をしていました。子どもたちはジェスチャーを使いながら曜日を覚えることができました。 「木曜日」という言葉は難しそうでしたが、彼らは一生懸命言いました。 ４年生の皆さん、これからも頑張ってください！

The 5th graders just learned how to say months and ordinal numbers. They also shared what they want to receive on their birthday.
５年生は月と序数の言い方を学習しました。また、誕生日にもらいたいものについてもつたえあいました。



The 6th grade students made a presentation about their school life. They were able to say where they live and what school they go to. They can also say about what they do on Saturdays and Sundays and what their treasures are using their tablet. Good job, 6th graders! ６年生が学校生活について発表しました。彼らはどこに住んでいるのか、どこの学校に通っているのかを言うことができました。タブレットを使って、土日に何をしているか、自分の宝物についても話すことができます。 ６年生、がんばりました！
